Our StreamSondes provide industry-standard performance for traditional data and sensors, pressure, temperature, and humidity. Wind and turbulence data are more accurate due to the in-house developed dual-band GNSS receiver.

StreamSonde RS

Our ultralight and environmentally friendly radiosonde, StreamSonde RS, provides industry-standard meteorological data during both ascent and descent. The embedded release mechanism allows the StreamSonde RS to be released from the balloon at a desired height, providing an additional atmospheric profile throughout its unperturbed descent. This feature allows for two profiles at the cost of one, improving weather forecasts.
The StreamSonde RS offers a cost-efficient way to access better meteorological data. Its low weight enables the use of less helium or hydrogen which improves operator safety and reduces operational and logistics costs. Additionally, its small size, miniature electronics, low weight of the cover and need for less helium/hydrogen result in less environmental debris and more environmentally friendly operations, which are crucial consideration for any national weather service or researcher.

Stream Sonde DS

Our ultralight dropsonde, StreamSonde DS, weighs only 14 grams. Thanks to its optimized aerodynamic shape, it descends as slowly as 5m/s at sea level, without the distraction of a parachute. The slow descent, prolonged measurement time, and lightweight design allow it to catch updrafts like no instrument before it, providing detailed information on winds and turbulence. This new and crucial data improves storm forecasting and research.

The StreamSonde RS-Sens has all benefits and features of the StreamSonde RS including industry-standard meteorological data, the embedded release mechanism for an unperturbed additional descent profile and ultra lightweight resulting in cost efficient operations using 30% less helium or hydrogen and in significantly less environmental debris. In addition to the unique StreamSonde RS features the StreamSonde RS-Sens offers complementary sensors including 3D motion sensors, air quality sensors and RGB/UV and IR ambient light sensors. The StreamSonde RS-Sens is also available either with standard radiosonde batteries or with a re-chargeable battery enabling cost efficient and environmentally friendly reusage when appropriate.
