Weather Instruments

The lightest weather sondes
in the world

Skyfora's lightweight StreamSondes provide an environmentally responsible and cost-effective solution for capturing the state and dynamics of the atmosphere beyond the reach of conventional sondes.

Unmatched weather data accuracy

Skyfora has extensive experience in developing miniature electronics, weather sensors, and instrumentation that challenge the status quo in the radiosonde and dropsonde industries.

StreamSondes deliver industry-standard performance for key atmospheric measurements, including pressure, temperature, and humidity. These are complemented by exceptional accuracy in wind and turbulence measurements enabled by a purpose-built, in-house developed dual-band GNSS receiver.

In addition, StreamSondes integrate several advanced features and complementary sensors, enabling the collection of more comprehensive atmospheric datasets for forecasting and scientific applications.

WITH SKYFORA'S STREAM SONDES

Superior Data Quality

StreamSondes deliver detailed atmospheric profiles based on SI-traceable pressure, temperature, and humidity measurements. Integrated 3D motion sensors and a purpose-built dual-band GNSS receiver provide exceptional accuracy in wind and turbulence observations.

Reduced Operational Costs

Skyfora's lightweight sonde architecture enables efficient deployments with reduced logistical overhead and lower operational costs. Longer observation times and flexible deployment concepts support both research campaigns and operational sounding workflows.

Environmentally Sustainable

StreamSondes are designed to minimize environmental impact throughout their lifecycle. Low mass, carefully selected materials, and deployment concepts that reduce waste and resource consumption make StreamSondes a sustainable choice for atmospheric research and forecasting.
